Coming to Prague for Erasmus or an exchange semester? This guide shows you how to find and reserve a room on erasmusinprague.com in five simple steps. You'll learn how to pick your dates, choose the right neighbourhood, compare rooms and prices, and what happens after you click “Continue and reserve”.

All our rooms are fully furnished and checked by our team before they go online. You can arrive with just your suitcase.

Step 1: Pick your academic year and semester

Start on the Accommodation page and choose your academic year first. Then pick the period of your stay:

  • Summer: July – August
  • 1st semester: September – January
  • 2nd semester: February – June
  • Full academic year: September – June

The list then shows which apartments still have free rooms for those dates (“Book now”) and which are already full (“Booked”). Check your exact dates with your university before you book. Exam periods sometimes run longer than you expect.

Some universities finish the winter semester later, and we're ready for that. Your 1st semester contract can end on 31 January or on 15 February, so just tell your accommodation buddy which date you need.

Step 2: Choose your neighbourhood

Think about where you'll spend most of your days. A short walk to class beats a long commute every morning. Our apartments are in central Prague:

  • Vinohrady (Prague 2): leafy streets, cafés and parks like Riegrovy sady and Havlíčkovy sady. Good for VŠE, Charles University faculties and ČVUT via metro.
  • Žižkov (Prague 3): a lively student area with affordable pubs. Good for VŠE and the main train station.
  • Nové Město (Prague 1 and 2): the very centre, next to Wenceslas Square. Good for ČVUT at Karlovo náměstí, the medical faculties and Albertov.
  • Holešovice and Letná (Prague 7): creative and relaxed, near Letná park. Good if you like a quieter base.

Apartment pages include a “Getting around” section with walking times to trams, metro stations and universities. Use it to compare your daily commute.

Step 3: Compare apartments and rooms

Each apartment in the list shows the number of bedrooms, the size in m² and the starting price. Sort by price to see the cheapest options first. Click an apartment to see photos, a full description and every room in it.

You'll find three kinds of listings:

  • Room in a shared apartment. Your own bedroom, with a shared kitchen and bathroom. Want to share a bedroom with a friend? Some rooms can be shared, so message the accommodation buddy for that apartment directly.
  • Studio. A small apartment just for you, marked “Whole-apartment listing”.
  • Whole apartment. Ideal if you're coming with friends. The price is for the full apartment.

Coming with friends? On the apartment page, click “Select more rooms” and reserve several rooms in the same apartment at once.

Before you decide, read the “What's included” list. It shows the furniture, kitchen equipment, bathrooms and extras like a washing machine. Tap the heart icon to save apartments to your Favorites and compare them later.

Step 4: Check the price and what's included

Rooms start at CZK 18,000 per month, and rent is always paid in CZK. The EUR amount on the website is only a guide. The price is per room per month, except for whole-apartment listings, where it covers the full apartment. All our apartments are fully furnished and the rent includes utilities, so you won't get any extra energy bills.

Besides the monthly rent, plan for these one-time payments:

  • Booking fee, one semester: €350 per person, non-refundable
  • Booking fee, full academic year: €450 per person, non-refundable
  • Security deposit: one month's rent, refunded at the end of your stay if the apartment is in good condition

The booking fee covers the reservation, communication and your contract. You pay it by bank transfer. The security deposit goes to the landlord's account.

Rent is due by the 1st day of each month. You can pay by card through our online portal, or in cash at our office at Záhřebská 10, Prague 2, a short walk from Náměstí Míru and I. P. Pavlova metro stations.

Step 5: Reserve your room

Found the one? Here's what happens next:

  1. Select your semester and your room on the apartment page, then click “Continue and reserve”. This puts a temporary hold on the room. You don't pay anything at this stage.
  2. Your accommodation buddy gets in touch. Every apartment has a named contact person from our team, with a phone number on the page. They answer your questions and agree the details with you.
  3. Want to see it first? Click “Request viewing” and we'll arrange it. You can also ask for a video of the apartment, or take the 3D virtual tour (Matterport) right on our website.
  4. Sign the contract. We send you a draft, usually via WhatsApp. You and your future flatmates fill it in and sign it, then we add our signatures and send you the final copy.
  5. Pay the booking fee and the security deposit. The booking fee confirms your spot. The deposit goes to the landlord.

That's it. Your room is waiting for you when you land in Prague.

Your favourite room is booked?

Rooms go fast, especially in the weeks before each semester starts. If an apartment shows “Booked”, you still have options:

  • Join the waitlist. Leave your details on the apartment page. Spots sometimes open up, and we'll contact you when one does.
  • Check the same building. Many buildings have several apartments with similar rooms and prices. Look for “View all apartments” at the bottom of the page.
  • Try another semester or a full year. Availability differs between periods.
  • Ask your accommodation buddy. They know what's coming up and can suggest something similar.
