Wawel Castle, Christmas markets, Polish food and lively Krakow nights, followed by a deeply moving visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau. This is a weekend that stays with you.
During our first two days, we’ll get to know Krakow itself. The medieval Old Town will be home to the city’s famous Christmas markets, opening that weekend, while historic Kazimierz brings local food, cosy bars and some of Krakow’s best atmosphere after dark. On Sunday, the trip takes a more reflective turn with our visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum.
Our head guide Vít will once again be there with you throughout the weekend, sharing some of our favourite spots and making sure everything runs smoothly. Together with our expert local guides, we’ll show you Krakow properly while still leaving enough free time to explore it your own way. 💙
Once we arrive, we’ll check into our accommodation, drop our bags and give everyone some time to settle in. Later, we’ll head out together for our first walk through Krakow, followed by a traditional Polish dinner. Pierogi are naturally encouraged. 😄
After dinner, Krakow becomes a little less medieval. We’ll join a pub crawl with a one-hour open bar, then continue through some of the city’s best nightlife venues. All scheduled entries are included. 🔥
After breakfast, our expert local guide will take us through Wawel Castle, Krakow’s Old Town and historic Kazimierz, sharing the stories behind the places we pass. We’ll also stop at Plac Nowy, where you can try zapiekanka, Poland’s answer to pizza, more or less. 😄
You’ll then have a few hours to explore on your own, visit the newly opened Christmas markets or join us for an optional group activity. In the evening, Vít will show you some of our favourite Krakow pubs before we head out for another night together, joined by local Erasmus students from Krakow. 🇵🇱
Following breakfast, we’ll check out before travelling to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum for a guided visit. It is not an easy place to see, but it is an important one, so this part of the weekend will be approached with the time and respect it deserves.
Afterwards, we’ll stop for lunch before beginning our journey back to Prague, with arrival expected later in the evening.
💙 More than a sightseeing weekend: Krakow brings history, Christmas markets, Polish food, nightlife and one of the most meaningful visits we organise into a single trip.
🧭 History explained properly: Expert local guides will take us through Krakow and Auschwitz-Birkenau, giving you much more than names, dates or quick photo stops.
🙏 We’re there throughout the trip: Vít and our EiP guides will travel with you, keep the programme moving smoothly, plus help whenever you need us.
🌍 Coming alone is completely normal: Travelling, exploring and going out together makes meeting people happen naturally. Local Erasmus students from Krakow will also join us during parts of the weekend. 😊
🗺️ There’s still time for yourself: You’ll have space to visit the Christmas markets, follow our recommendations or simply explore Krakow at your own pace.

1) The visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau can be emotionally intense, so taking part is completely optional. If you do not feel comfortable visiting or simply do not feel up to it, there is absolutely no pressure to join. Just let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
2) Exact departure and meeting details will be shared closer to the trip. We’ll also create a WhatsApp group for everyone joining, where you’ll receive all important updates, plus a place to ask us anything before we leave. 😊
