EiP goes to Christmas Dresden

Glowing Christmas markets, Baroque palaces, riverside views, Stollen and enough Glühwein to keep the cold away. Dresden knows how to do Christmas properly. 😁

Just a few hours from Prague, Dresden is home to the famous Striezelmarkt, first held in 1434 and still one of Europe’s oldest Christmas markets. We’ll explore the best of the city with our guide Filip, then leave you plenty of time to enjoy the markets at your own pace. 💙

OLD TOWN, PALACES & DRESDEN STORIES 🏰

We’ll meet at Prague Main Train Station at 9:30 AM before travelling to Dresden by private bus. Once we arrive, Filip will guide us through the historic centre, taking us past the Procession of Princes, Zwinger Palace, Royal Palace and Frauenkirche.

Along the way, he’ll share the stories behind Dresden’s landmarks, show you the places worth knowing and help you understand how this beautiful city became what it is today.

CHRISTMAS MARKETS & FREE TIME 🎄

After the tour, you’ll have plenty of time to explore Dresden’s Christmas markets properly. Wander between the glowing wooden stalls, pick up a few gifts or warm up with some traditional Glühwein. You can also try Dresden’s famous Stollen, grab something to eat or simply enjoy the festive atmosphere around the Old Town.

If you want a little more culture, you can visit one of Dresden’s museums. If you would rather take it slowly, find a cosy café, walk along the Elbe or return to your favourite market stalls before we meet for the journey home. Arrival back in Prague is planned for approximately 9:00 PM.
